One of my pet peeves is how many hours a day are wasted on “doing” the girl’s hair. The hair designs are very elaborate, which rows of tightly woven hair. It is called “tressing.” The Adventist school requires the girls to wear ribbons in their hair, as do most schools in Haiti. I think it is ridiculous. I’ve wanted to see the president of the school to lodge a complaint. I am more concerned about the girls using their brains than make their hair look good.
