It amazes me how easily I transition from my tranquil life in Florida to my chaotic life in Haiti. We lost power at 4:55am yesterday. My office and the second floor were thrust into darkness. I reached for where I keep the lantern. Someone had moved it. I stumbled in the darkness to the back door and yelled for Mackenson. Within minutes he had the diesel generator humming and the lights came back on. Not long afterward I didn’t even mind the cricket in the shower.
