Yesterday morning, I gave no thought about going to Mass at the sisters. I had a letter for Sr. Immacula regarding Saturday’s schedule for the retreat. I needed to know how many hours I had to fill in the morning and afternoon sessions. As I drove, I saw signs of the unrest over night. At one point, I had to drive around burning piles of rubbish. I could see were blockades had been set up. Normally, Delmas 33, where we live is considered more dangerous than Delmas, 31 where the sisters and Fr. Tom live. But when I turned onto the road leading passed their streets, I could see how rough it was there on Monday. Two years ago, what I was witnessing would have scared the daylights out of me, but yesterday I was unfazed by it.
