Yesterday at 5:45am, I was walking out of the office heading for the kitchen when I heard the sound of an incoming text message. It had to be from Billy. He had to be passing on a message from the sisters. Bingo. No Mass at 6:30am; instead there will be an evening Mass at 6:00pm. Suddenly I had the surprise gift of time.
