On Wednesday, I began reading a new, highly-praised biography of Dorothy Day. Titled Dorothy Day: Dissenting Voice of the American Century, the book separates the myths from the facts about America’s most radical pacifist, critic of US foreign policy, and Catholic activist. Over the last 20 years I was drawn to Day’s life because of her deep concern for the poor.
