Last evening, after many days of wearing the sneakers with the special insole and knee-length compression socks, I was able to take my first evening walk in many months. When I first got back on this trip, I went for a walk and had to turn back after three minutes because my foot hurt so much.

Saturday (9/5) was Teresa Regina Straub’s first Birthday. Jarline was the day shift supervisor so she organized a big party for her.

For the last month, my heart was pained by the reality I did not have the funds to send any kids to an external school. Thanks to protests and coronavirus, our kids have been sequestered with our walls nearly a year.

On Thursday I spent a little time cleaning up the mess on my desk. As I shifted through piles of papers, I uncovered the fives sheets of small, lined yellow paper stapled together. I had written on those pages a series of random thoughts. I did not recall writing the thoughts.
