Last Friday, there was big party for all the kids and staff who had birthdays in October.

The daunting challenge this week in Florida is mustering the faith to continue to fight for the kids. I think part of “darkness” of late could be attributed to sleep deprivation during my weeks in Haiti. I rarely get more than six hours sleep, and frequently get less than that. I am really going to make a concerted effort to rest, relax, and get out into nature over the next week.

Our newest staff member, Brenda. our weekend activities director is wonderful. She is a professional. She shows up with a clear plan for the day and she executes to perfection. Last Sunday, the main item on list was teaching the kids to make cookies.
