Running on Empty

From March 6, 2022

In Haiti I reached the end of what I know about God and life. In Haiti, I realized I really didn’t know anything. Yeah, I knew about television, I knew about filmmaking and photography, I knew about writing books and screenplays. But none of that matter in Haiti. In Haiti, I learned to live on the edge, to stare into the unknown. In a violent place of clinched fists, I learned to live with an open hand, stretched out in motion to another. In Haiti I learned to tend to what was truly needed in the here and now…mostly in the form of hungry, hurting kids.
