Yesterday, my friend Mary Nally showed up at my home in Burbank at 10:30 in the morning. Mary is a member of my parish and was on the founding board of Pax et Bonum Communications. She only had two hours before she had to dash off to her duties at the USC Medical Center where she teaches surgery. I was just happy to see her…and figured we would just stuff a few boxes during her short visit. But Mary said she knew two places in Pasadena that would take the books, and the proceeds from the sale of them would go to a charity helping kids.
