On Monday morning, I took a few photographs of Bency and Moïse…older sister and younger brother. Fate made them sister and brother. Bency was beaten by her mother. Moïse’s mother left him just minutes after giving birth to him on dirt street in a slum, living him with a stranger who lacked the resources to even offer the infant the most basic of care.
