Citation Blues

From September 2, 2022

Before I traveled to Albany, I spent three long days buried in the editor’s corrected manuscript of my Merton book. About ¼ of each page was a shaded area reserved for the editor’s comments and my responses. The editor made corrections which I needed to accept or reject, suggested changes or a suggestion that a sentence be re-written. But the most numerous and most time-consuming notes from the editor were drawing my attention to the quotations where I failed to offer a citation indicating the publication data, including the page number of the source book.
