For today, it is back to Santa Domingo and our visit to the taxi driver who escorted us around Santo Domingo during our delayed, short two-day honeymoon in July. His name is Johnny. I called him Johnny Loco…because he was a bit crazy, in a good way. He didn’t just drive, he accompanied us.

Today is my 9th Christmas in Haiti. Last Thursday, I shared my long-withheld hidden thoughts about my future in Haiti. At the end of Journal, I offered signs of hope and acknowledged my need for rest. The outpouring of support and love sent in response was completely unexpected…and deeply appreciated. It was an early Christmas gift.
