Just one week ago today I began the 18-hour long journey to Rome. I’ve settled into the rhythm of life here at S. Isidoro, where I have all the solitude and fellowship I want. I’ve been talking three hour walks every day, visiting many obscure churches. Many readers supported by decision not to go to Haiti, while a few felt it was a mistake. Some hope I don’t cut short my time in Italy and return to the States and Haiti earlier than planned. For me, the purpose of the trip was to rest, relax and renew…and I feel that is happening.
