Monday was Ernecia’s 5th birthday. She was six months old when her mother was running away from a gang in Cité Soleil that wanted to kill her. She had to leave Port-au-Prince and could not take her daughter. Her older daughter (Walencia) already lived with us. I wanted to keep the sisters together.
