I really don’t like using the pages of the Journal to write about the money needed to operate Santa
Chiara each month. I haven’t done so in many months. In our first five years, we literally operated
on a month-to-month basis. We had one major donor who funded nearly half our annual
operating budget. Securing the other half from our limited number of donors was extremely
difficult. I was in a constant state of anxiety over funding.
