The flight was scheduled to depart at 9:14am. The incoming plane was late. At 10:10am, we were finally all on board, the door was closed and we were ready to go. But wait. We were not pushing back from the gate. After ten minutes, the captain announced that a passenger did not get on the plane and they had to search the cargo hold for the missing passenger’s luggage and remove it. We landed in Haiti at 12:10pm, which was 9½ hours after I got out of bed.
