If I were living full time in the United States, I’d want to find ways to break down the walls that separate us. But here in Haiti, living essentially in a war zone, I am forced to build higher walls because the women inside our walls at night are too nervous to sleep because the side wall running from the front of the property to the back is much lower than the front wall.
