The Sunday cook told us there was no meat in the freezer. So, yesterday Billy and I had to make an extra run to Pétionville to do a supplemental shopping. I was able to pick up things I forgot to get on Thursday. Thanks to the gas shortage, there were not many cars on the road. Before we went shopping, we set out to look for diesel fuel. We had nine 5.3-gallon jugs. We found a gas station that only had diesel fuel, so we were able to fill all nine jugs, which cost $118…and will last about a week. The gas station was one of the very few that takes credit card, so we charged it in order to preserve the cash we have on hand.
